Autoimmunity has drivers. We work on them.

Healing Advanced Solutions provides root-cause functional medicine support for autoimmune conditions in Jacksonville, FL, working alongside your specialists, with testing reviewed by Catherine Seidle, APRN.

Root-cause support that runs alongside your rheumatologist or specialist, never instead of them. That division of labor is the whole point.

What's going on

The immune misfire, and the environment around it.

Autoimmunity is the immune system misreading self as a threat. Genetics set the predisposition; the terrain around you influences when it flares and how strongly: gut barrier integrity, where much of the immune system sits, along with chronic infections, stress physiology, hormones, sleep debt, and exposures. The territory is wide, too: MedlinePlus counts more than 80 distinct autoimmune diseases.

Conventional care rightly focuses on controlling the attack, and it should. The ground around that attack, the part daily life keeps touching, is where functional medicine does its work. The two jobs are different, and they work best together.

Alongside your specialist, never in place of.

Two different jobs, one patient. Here is who owns what.

Your specialist owns

  • Diagnosis and disease classification
  • Disease-modifying medication
  • Flare management and monitoring
  • Any remission or medication decision

We work on

  • The systematic sweep of contributors
  • Gut, nutrient, stress, and sleep contributors
  • Trigger exposures worth addressing
  • Tracking the markers over time

We communicate rather than compete, and we never change a medication without your prescriber. A strong specialist relationship makes our work more useful, not less.

  • Alongside your specialist
  • Never a med change without your prescriber
  • Markers tracked over time

Testing we use.

Inflammatory markers

CRP and ESR to track that inflammation exists and how it moves, not to explain where it comes from. That interpretation is the evaluation's job.

Thyroid antibodies

One of the most common autoimmune entry points, and often the first one found. Our thyroid page explains the full panel.

Gut assessment

Where the history points, because most immune tissue lives at the gut barrier. Our gut-health page describes the workup.

Nutrient status

Vitamin D and the others the literature ties to immune regulation, read against functional ranges rather than bare minimums.

Many people arrive here through Hashimoto's, one of the most common autoimmune conditions, and the root-cause work often overlaps with gut health. Results are read the way our lab testing page describes.

What care looks like.

  1. A free consultation

Ten to fifteen minutes. Tell us your diagnosis and your team, and we will describe what root-cause support adds around them.

  2. Evaluation, with your care in the loop

A full history and targeted testing, mapped to the contributors your story points to.

  3. A staged root-cause plan

Built around the systems the condition taxes, and coordinated with the treatment your specialist directs.

  4. Follow-ups on your condition's rhythm

This is marathon medicine. Wins look like calmer stretches, better energy, and labs your specialist likes more, accumulated over months.

Common questions.

The things patients ask most.

Ask us anything
What does functional medicine do for autoimmune conditions?

It works on the terrain around the diagnosis: gut health, nutrient status, stress physiology, sleep, and trigger exposures that influence how loudly the immune system misfires. That work happens alongside your rheumatologist or specialist, not instead of them.

Can you reverse autoimmune disease?

No one can promise that, and you should be wary of anyone who does. What is realistic and well worth pursuing: identifying and addressing contributors that drive flares, supporting the systems the condition taxes, and aiming for longer, calmer stretches. Remission language belongs to your specialist and your labs.

Why did I develop an autoimmune condition?

Usually a stack: genetic predisposition plus some combination of infections, gut barrier changes, chronic stress, hormones, and environmental exposures. The mix differs per person, which is exactly why a root-cause workup is individual rather than a standard protocol.

My inflammation markers are high. What does that mean?

Markers like CRP and ESR measure that inflammation exists, not where it comes from. They are useful for tracking and for taking a complaint seriously, but the interpretation depends on the whole picture, which is what the evaluation is for.

Do I still need my rheumatologist?

Yes. Disease-modifying medications, monitoring, and flare management belong with your specialist, and we want that relationship strong. Our lane is the root-cause and lifestyle terrain around it, and we keep your specialist in the loop.

Which symptoms should not wait for a functional workup?

New neurological symptoms, chest pain, severe joint swelling with fever, vision changes, or a rapidly worsening flare deserve prompt attention from your specialist or urgent care first. Root-cause work is for the marathon, not the emergency.
