What is GHK-Cu?

GHK-Cu is a copper-binding peptide of three amino acids, glycine, histidine, and lysine, that occurs naturally in human blood, saliva, and urine. Its levels fall with age, which is part of why it is so popular in the skin and aging conversation, and it has been used in skincare for decades. It is the foundation of the GLOW and KLOW blends. Here it is prescribed as a take-home vial after a free consultation and a review of your history.

  • Hair growth

How does GHK-Cu work?

GHK-Cu appears to act on fibroblasts, the cells that build and remodel skin, signaling them to produce collagen, elastin, and the supporting matrix. It also influences the enzymes that clear old matrix. Copper itself is a cofactor for the enzyme that cross-links collagen. In wound models it has been studied for drawing repair cells into an injury and for the growth of new blood vessels. What an injected dose does across the whole body has not been established in trials.

GHK-Cu side effects and safety.

  • Decades of topical use, with skin irritation the main finding reported.
  • Human data for injection are limited, and FDA cites limited human data for injectable use.
  • Copper build-up is a theoretical concern at high doses and has not been studied by injection.
